/CALL FOR ARTISTS ... The West End Community Centre's annual fine art exhibition, Art In The City, is now accepting applications from artist/exhibitors for the May, 2017 show.
This popular showcase of artistic talent will take place May 5 through 7 in the auditorium of the Centre.
TALES OF THE WEST END: An evening to explore and experience our community through stories about the West End's past. The event is held at one of Vancouver’s intriguing historic buildings, formerly known as “Maxine’s” and now home to a JJ Bean coffee shop."
Michael Gordon, City of Vancouver, Senior Planner for Vancouver-Downtown, is February’s featured story teller. Michael has given several tours and presentations on both the West End and Downtown Vancouver. His story will focus on “The History of the West End High Rises”.
You are encouraged to bring your own stories and historic photographs of the West End to share with friends and neighbourhs.
Tuesday, February 21 at JJ Bean Coffee Shop (1209 Bidwell @ Davie) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Free admission. Complimentary coffee and tea courtesy of JJ Bean
WEST END BRUNCH CRAWL: Visit multiple restaurants throughout the West End as you join in the second annual Brunch Crawl. Taste all sorts of dishes in this Brunch crawl, using your “passport” as your guide. Enjoy the variety of dishes and beverages which may include juices, smoothies, coffees, to eggs benny’s, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, hash browns, brunch pizza, meats, seafood, baked goods, desserts, and so much more. Venues: Participants include some of the West End’s finest restaurants.
