SPRING AWAKENING @ PAL … This award-winning musical gets an unplugged rendition from Vancouver's Tomo Suru Productions at PAL Studio Theatre . The high-energy rock tinged musical is presented with the cast providing most of the musical accompaniment. Based on the German play Spring Awakening (1891) by Frank Wedekind. the play is a story of adolescent sexual awakening among a group of young students living in a repressive society. The 2006 Broadway production won eight Tony Awards, including for Best Musical, Direction, Book, Score and Featured Actor.

SHAME SPIRAL ... Every Tuesday night, whether we want her to or not, Vancouver drag diva Peach Cobblah presents her "Shame Spiral" showcase of the best (and sometimes the worst) of our local drag scene, with guest stars, high-energy performances, and frequent surprises. 

Peach Cobblah is the alter-ego of award-winning writer and performer Dave Devau, whose plays and operas include the acclaimed  "Nelly Boy", "Dead People's Things", and "Elbow Room Café". 

So what if Wednesday morning at work is a bit of a train wreck? You only live once!

Every Tuesday at 1181 club (1181 Davie Street). Showtime is 11 p.m. but get there early. You'll need a few stiff drinks to prepare yourself for what's to come!

THE RYAN & AMY SHOW ... This Vancouver baed sketch comedy duo, featuring Ryan Steele and Amy Goodmurphy,  has been performing together for nine years. From their gender bending characters to their line crossing comedy style, they find humour in sick things and believe swearing always makes things better.

JAZZ VESPERS ... Enjoy a meditative, jazz-infused and relaxing hour any Sunday afternoon as St. Andrew's-Wesley Church presents some of Vancouver's most beloved jazz artists.

The lineup for February includes: Andrea Superstein on Feb. 5; Karin Plato on Feb. 12; the Henry Young Quartet on Feb. 19; and L.J. Montgomery on Feb. 26.

Admission is free (donations accepted). At St. Andrew's-Wesley Church (1022 Nelson at Burrard) every Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m.
